Behold, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who by night stand in the house of the Lord! Lift your hands in the sanctuary and bless the Lord. Psalm 134:1-2
The lifting of our hands not only shows an attitude of reverence, but also a position of surrender. We are acknowledging that we are surrendering all to the Lord, the one who is fully capable of meeting our every need. The Father wants us to depend on Him, Jesus even declared to his followers in the Gospel of John, chapter 16 and verse 32, “Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. Even in anticipation of His own death, Christ still had His dependency in the Father. Father definitely knows best. When we surrender all to our heavenly Father, we are giving Him an avenue to bless us the way He desires to bless us. We are saying, “Father, I know not, but you know all things, do with me as you please.” That’s the type of attitude that pleases God, because it is an attitude of unwavering faith. We stand on God’s promises and we understand that His promises are yes and amen. God is a sure God, and He has sure plans for each of our lives, He’s just waiting on us to stop trying to live someone else’s life. You see it’s like this, when you are having a home built, you trust that the builder knows exactly what they’re doing. If they have the blueprint, you trust them to place everything where it’s supposed to be, according to the blueprint. Jeremiah 29:11 reads, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” My friend, God has the blueprint for your life. We have to trust that since He has the blueprint, everything will be in its proper place in our lives once we surrender it to Him. It’s amazing how a simple act of surrender can bring about a peace that passes our understanding. We’ve heard the phrase, the struggle is real; well, so is the peace of God when we allow Him to be in control of our lives. Make up in your mind today that this is your last day of struggling with this, fighting with that, toiling over this and not sleeping because of that. Lift your hands in the sanctuary, bless the Lord and tell Him that you are letting it all go. The Father will be pleased, and you will be at peace! How do we remain focused during the Christmas Season? We continue to bless the Lord!! Blessings to each of you in this Christmas Season!! In His Service, Pastor Alfonzo Miller
